Carol earned her master’s degree in social work at Wayne State University, Detroit, MI. She has 25 years of experience working as a medical social worker, counselor, and case manager. She works with adults, adolescents, families, couples, the elderly, persons with closed head injuries, medically complex patients, the chronically ill, and caregivers.
Areas of practice include health-related issues, chronic disease, pain management, dementia, caregiver issues, adjustment disorders, depression and anxiety, grief and loss, end-of-life issues, bereavement, stress-related disorders, wellness, women’s issues, blended families, relationships, and divorce.
Carol employs a person-centered, supportive approach along with cognitive-behavioral techniques, solution-focused therapy, and family systems therapy. She is EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) trained, has training in motivational interviewing, and focuses on problem-solving, change and empowerment, to help clients gain insight, awareness, and experience symptom relief that meet each individual’s unique needs.
