Carol earned her master’s degree in social work at Wayne State University, Detroit, MI. She has 25 years of experience working as a medical social worker, counselor and case manager. She works with adults, adolescents, families, couples, the elderly, persons with closed head injuries, medically complex patients, the chronically ill, and caregivers.
Areas of practice include abuse and neglect, health related issues, chronic disease, pain management, dementia, caregiver issues, adjustment disorders, depression and anxiety, grief and loss, end-of-life issues, bereavement, stress related disorders, wellness, women’s issues, blended families, relationships and divorce.
Carol employs a person centered, supportive approach along with cognitive behavioral techniques, solution focused therapy, and family systems therapy. She has training in motivational interviewing and focuses on problem solving, change and empowerment, to help clients gain insight, awareness, and experience symptom relief that meet each individual’s unique needs.
