About OPC

Oakland Psychological Clinic, P.C. is an outpatient mental health and chemical dependency clinic with eight locations in Southeastern Michigan.

Our staff of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and counselors can help you with a variety of services to treat a wide range of psychological, emotional and behavioral problems.  We are able to help children, adolescents, adults, couples, families and the elderly.

Oakland Psychological Clinic, P.C. is accredited by The Joint Commission.

We have contracted with most of the area's major insurance companies, HMO's, unions and managed care administrators and can accept most health care plans (see Insurance Contracts for a partial list).

History

Oakland Psychological Clinic, P.C. was founded by Barry Tigay, Ph.D in 1983.  Dr. Tigay received his Ph.D. from Wayne State University in 1977 and was President of Psychological Resources Inc. in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan prior to founding OPC.

OPC was established to serve the needs of a diverse population base in southeastern Michigan and to respond to changes in the nation's health care delivery system. Insurance companies and employers have begun to contract with larger, multidisciplinary practices to meet stringent standards of quality and improve access to care.
